Pinelands High School, established in 1952, is a state high school situated in the suburb of Pinelands. Pinelands High School offers a broad academic curriculum and demonstrates consistency in achieving excellent academic results. The school is perhaps one of the most successful examples of transformation in the South African schooling system. Racial and gender tolerance and acceptance are actively practised, and regular "Rainbow" camps provide an innovative forum for confronting prejudice. Transformation has also been educational, in the implementation of outcomes-based education. The facilities at Pinelands High include well-equipped science laboratories, art, graphics and ceramics rooms, a computer centre, an active media centre and library, and a music wing. The school has a proud cultural tradition, with annual school productions, and regular art exhibitions and music performances. On the sporting front, Pinelands High School offers good sporting facilities: apart from extensive sports grounds, the school has a swimming pool, indoor sports hall, and tennis, netball and basketball courts.
