These positions are flexibly staffed. While we will hire a Firefighter EMT at the lowest level, we will prioritize those applicants with the higher levels of EMT and Firefighter certifications. If employed at a lower level, automatic promotion to the next level in the flex series will occur once a higher-level certification is acquired.
Are you a current Firefighter/EMT who has worked for a career department for a minimum of three years, love what you do, but are looking for a change of scenery and new adventures? Capital City Fire/Rescue (CCFR) in Juneau Alaska may be just the place for you!
Discover a career and lifestyle without compromise in Alaska’s breathtaking capital city. Juneau residents consistently rank “quality of life” as the primary reason they call this wilderness-metropolis home, and for good reason. When you are off-shift, you are minutes away from world-class outdoor adventures—from carving fresh powder at Eaglecrest Ski Area to kayaking past the Mendenhall Glacier or exploring over 250 miles of pristine hiking trails. In Juneau, you aren’t just taking a job; you are joining a safe, family-oriented community with a deep-rooted appreciation for its emergency responders.
