Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue is recruiting for the position of Part-Time Firefighter/EMT and Firefighter/Paramedic!
Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue serves the communities in the un-incorporated areas around the City of Port Angeles. The Fire District has a population of just under 10,000 people and has a response area of 84 Sq. miles. We also assist our neighboring agencies through several mutual and automatic aid agreements, as well as several area in Olympic National Park and the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe.
The Fire District is establishing a new program and plans to hire 12-15 new Part-Time Firefighter/EMTs/Paramedics.
The Fire District is an ALS Verified Trauma Agency with Washington State Department of Health and we provide the following services;
- ALS/BLS Emergency Medical Services (including transport)
- Structural fire protection
- Wildland fire protection
- Technical rescue
- Fire prevention

These new positions with serve as primary, emergency 911 responders along with our current full-time career firefighters. You will gain valuable skills and experience running all types of emergency calls while serving the community.
What are the minimum qualifications?
To qualify for the position of Part-time Firefighter, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- High school graduate or GED
- Pass a medical/physical exam to include drug screening
- Be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Have a Washington State driver’s license
- Be IFSAC Firefighter I certified
- Hold Washington State EMT or Paramedic certification
How many hours per month are required?
Each Part-time firefighter will be assigned to a rotating shift (A, B, or C). The standard shift is 24-hours long from 0700-0700. Part-time firefighters will typically be assigned to five (5) shifts per month, for an average of 120 hours per month.
What is the salary range for a Part-time firefighter?
Salary for Part-time firefighter/EMT: Salary for Part-time firefighter/Paramedic:
$22.95 – 26.77 per hour $26.29 – $30.67 per hour
$550.80 – $642.48 per 24-hour shift $630.96 – $736.08 per 24-hour shift
$2,754.00 – $3,212.40 per month $3,154.80 – $3,680.40 per month

Do I need to live in the Fire District?
No, members who are Part-time firefighters do not have a residency requirement to live within the Fire District.
