Overview

We are looking for a hardworking Maintenance Technician to join our Operations Team. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role focused on the daily upkeep of our agricultural facilities, grounds and events. If you enjoy working outdoors, operating machinery, and performing essential physical labor to keep a facility running, this is the job for you.

Responsibilities

Perform manual labor tasks including cleaning stalls, set up fencing, landscaping, and clearing debris.
May operate tractors, loaders, and mowers for field prep, snow removal, and material handling.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Aptitude plus experience is required.
  • Ability to work in dusty, noisy and potentially odorous agricultural environments (e.g., barns, livestock areas).
  • Experience using power tools, hand tools, and operating farm machinery preferred.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work site
  • Valid driver’s license to perform essential job responsibilities, such as driving university vehicles and transporting materials
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, early mornings, and evenings during events.

Working at the Bastian Agricultural Center is a physically active, fast-paced job that takes place largely outdoors.You will be exposed to all Utah weather conditions, including extreme summer heat, winter cold, rain, and snow. The work environment includes dust, pollen, noise from machinery, and odors associated with agricultural facilities and livestock.
This role requires constant physical movement. You will spend the majority of your shift on your feet, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy items.
The facility supports a busy schedule of community and national events and agricultural activities, requiring adaptability and the ability to multitask in a hands-on environment.

Ability to lift 75+ lbs regularly, stand, bend, or kneel for long periods, and work in extreme heat or cold.
