The Office of the Provost invites applications for a Faculty Affairs Manager to oversee operations related to academic policy administration, faculty evaluations, faculty activity reporting, course evaluations, faculty sabbaticals, professional licensure compliance, and related academic affairs initiatives. The role provides project management, systems administration, communication, training, and operational support to ensure effective implementation of institutional processes and compliance with applicable requirements.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer faculty-serving processes governed by faculty collective bargaining agreements, academic policies, and related procedures.
  • Manage and continuously improve faculty personnel processes, including faculty evaluations, sabbatical assignments, faculty activity reporting, course evaluations, and market adjustment reviews.
  • Develop and oversee project plans, timelines, workflows, communications, training, documentation, and website content associated with assigned faculty affairs programs and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, training, and consultative support to faculty, department chairs/directors, evaluators, deans, and other campus stakeholders regarding faculty affairs processes and requirements.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for Interfolio and related faculty information systems, ensuring data integrity, system functionality, reporting, and process effectiveness.
  • Maintain the University's professional licensure inventory and coordinate compliance, reporting, and student disclosure requirements with campus partners.
  • Support Office of the Provost strategic initiatives, special projects, committees, work groups, executive-level recruitments, and other Academic Affairs personnel processes.
  • Coordinate and support Office of the Provost events, meetings, and engagement activities, and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma and two (2) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate communications, events, projects, and related processes.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with faculty, staff, administrators, and campus partners while demonstrating a strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiation, conflict resolution, and change management, including the ability to consider multiple perspectives and support the implementation of new processes and practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to independently resolve complex issues and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and regulatory requirements while ensuring compliance and data integrity.
  • Experience using enterprise software systems, databases, reporting tools, Microsoft 365 applications, and emerging technologies to support operational effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A college degree in business, communication, education or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Experience in higher education or a similar work environment.
  • Knowledge of UM structure and protocols.

Additional Information

Compensation Title: Program Manager I

Union: *This position is not represented by a bargaining unit (union). *

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year

Probationary Period: Six (6) months minimum
