Unit/Department Summary
Position Summary
The Department of Earth and Spatial Sciences at the University of Idaho invites applications for an academic year, Temporary Lecturer in Earth and Spatial Sciences at the Moscow campus.

This teaching-intensive position will be integral in the further development and delivery of online courses supporting the online graduate programs within the department.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a commitment to quality teaching at the graduate and upper-division undergraduate levels. The position is approximately 85% teaching and 15% recruitment and engagement. The position will also interact with a variety of industry and agency stakeholders to help support the program and develop external opportunities, such as developing new skills courses related to their application areas.

The yearly contract is subject to renewal for up to two additional years ending in May 2029.

Qualifications
Minimum Education/Degree Required
  • Doctorate in Earth science (e.g., geography, geological sciences), natural resources (e.g., forestry, range management, wildlife), computer science, data science, or a related field.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in delivering online education.
  • Experience in delivering upper division and graduate geographical information systems courses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in developing online courses.
  • Experience in developing upper division and graduate geographical information systems courses.
  • Familiarity with the land-grant mission.
