Position Overview
The VandalStore Off-Site Operations, Events, and Inventory Specialist oversees the operations of the Customer Creation Center and manages the flow of merchandise to off-site locations and pop-up events. This role ensures efficient preparation, handling, and distribution of products while maintaining inventory accuracy and quality control across multiple locations, including Joe on the Go!, the Coeur d’Alene Center, MOSS, and future expansion sites and merchandise lines.

The specialist also serves as a key point of contact for students, faculty, administration, alumni, and the public, providing exceptional customer service and supporting the store’s financial and operational goals.

Duties will include:
  • Coordinating logistics and workflows
  • Monitoring inventory levels
  • Tracking shipments
  • Troubleshooting operational challenges in real time
  • Manages scheduling deliveries and events
  • Implements process and technology improvements
  • Ensures compliance with safety standards across all facilities

Position Qualifications
Required Experience
  • One year of retail/customer service experience
  • Managing, training, and supervising employees
  • Coordinating and implementing programs/projects
  • Managing conflicting priorities
Required Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent
Required Other
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university-owned vehicles
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to work nonstandard business hours which may include evenings, weekends and holidays
Additional Preferred
  • Following verbal and written instructions, policies and procedures
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in both verbal and written format
  • Use computers to communicate with email, enter, retrieve, and edit data
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation with commitment and drive sales through all channels

Experience with:
  • Cash handling
  • Merchandising
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Working with POS/Inventory control systems
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Bend, stoop, lift, carry and/or otherwise move items weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to move about and between venues for extended periods of time up to a full day of work
