Posting Context Statement
Under the supervision of the EHR and Policy Manager, the EHR Technician will assist the Student Health Services management team in providing operational support to clinical and administrative staff. They will also play a key role in developing new systems, tools, and processes to streamline and automate operations as the clinic continues to grow and attain new capabilities. They will be the primary point of contact for user support in healthcare systems, particularly the Electronic Health Record (EHR), and will exercise initiative in solving emergent problems, and developing job aids, workflows, and other system resources.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for supporting daily Student Health Service operations by providing timely technical support for the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other healthcare systems, working collaboratively with staff to identify emerging needs, and using their technical and administrative expertise to develop solutions. They also assist with planning, implementation, and upkeep of new systems and processes and provide a critical line of communication between administrative and clinical staff.

Position Qualifications
Required Experience
  • One year providing IT technical support OR working in a healthcare setting
  • Experience interpreting, applying and adhering to healthcare and information privacy regulations such as HIPAA and FERPA
  • Using software for work management, process management and process automation
  • Attention to detail, as demonstrated in application materials
Required Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Other
  • None
Additional Preferred
  • Experience and proficient with technical EHR systems
  • Experience with basic end-user application development platforms. And not using low-code development platforms, visual programming systems, high-abstraction programming languages, scripting, coding languages, macros, Boolean expressions, conditionals, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare coding systems, and clinical workflows
