Position Overview
This position will support laboratory operations by conducting routine testing and sample analysis, ensuring data integrity and maintaining the lab’s equipment and facilities. This position involves hands-on lab work, including operating basic laboratory equipment, adhering to standardized procedures and contributing to the maintenance of a safe and organized workspace. This position will prepare samples for various types of tests, run those tests according to specific protocols and document the results carefully. It will also assist in routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Duties may include:
  • Prepare and test samples according to established protocols
  • Operate, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instrumentation
  • Document test results accurately and maintain organized records
  • Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures
  • Participate in quality control processes, including testing and verification procedures
  • Perform general lab housekeeping to maintain a clean and efficient work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications
Required Experience
  • One year performing tests in a laboratory setting
  • Using basic laboratory techniques, equipment and procedures
  • Working independently and collaboratively within a team
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a physical science field may substitute for the above experience
Required Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Other
  • None
Additional Preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in soil science, or a closely related field
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols
  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety protocols
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulations
  • Reporting results and discussing findings
  • Analytical skills
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Ability to carry, lift or otherwise move items weighing up to 50 pounds
