Summary

This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), in the Control Center Communication Operations (JTO) organization of Controls & Communications (JT), Information Technology (J). A successful candidate in this position will serve as the supervisor of the JTO organization and a member of the JT management team with responsibility for planning, supervising, and leading programs, systems, and work processes that are necessary to perform critical mission and support activities.

Major Duties

As a Supervisory Electronics Engineer, you will: Lead and Supervise a Technical Team: You will lead a team of 14-16 federal employees (GS-12 to GS-14) responsible for the Control Center Communications Operations. This includes planning work, setting priorities, assigning tasks, and evaluating performance. Manage Telecommunications Infrastructure: You will oversee the operation and maintenance of BPA's operational telecommunications system, including the infrastructure at the Control Centers. Execute Strategic Programs: You will be responsible for developing and carrying out the Telecommunication Systems Infrastructure (TSI) Program, ensuring a highly available and secure framework for all communication and transport systems. Provide Expert Technical Support: You will offer expert-level (Tier 3) support for the operational performance of BPA's telecommunications systems in the Control Centers, analyzing data to quickly resolve outages and maintain network integrity. Oversee Power System Control Services: You will manage the delivery of critical Power System Control (PSC) services, which includes wide area network (WAN) network design, developing operational processes, and managing cyber security plans. Represent BPA in Technical Matters: You will act as a representative for your group and BPA when dealing with other federal agencies, utilities, and industry groups. This involves justifying and negotiating resources and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Requirements

Evaluations
