Summary

NIST is seeking a Construction Representative to oversee and ensure successful delivery of construction, maintenance, and repair projects supporting mission-critical facilities. This role drives quality, safety, and compliance by managing contractor performance, resolving complex issues, and ensuring projects meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements-directly enabling reliable infrastructure for scientific research and operations.

Major Duties

The employee will support the Facilities and Maintenance Division workload in support of the NIST scientific mission. Duties include: - Creating Statements of Work (SOW) and Performance Work Statements (PWS), and serving as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and project manager for minor construction, alteration, renovation, repair, and maintenance services across a wide variety of facilities and specialized structures. - Performing on-site inspections and monitoring construction operations requiring practical knowledge of engineering methods and techniques; construction practices, materials, costs, and equipment; and the ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural plans and specifications.
