Summary

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TRAINING TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number PDD3024000 and is part of the MA ANG 102nd IW, National Guard. This is a Non-Bargaining Unit position. Major Duties

1. Oversees Group Training Programs and Subordinate Unit Compliance. This position serves as the Group Unit Training Manager (UTM) and operates under the direction of the Force Support Squadron (FSS) - Force Development Office (FDO). The incumbent acts as the primary advisor to the Group Commander /A-Staff Director on training policy and execution across subordinate units. They lead the planning, development, and evaluation of group-wide education and training initiatives, establishing a cohesive training strategy and ensuring compliance through coordination with subordinate or assigned Unit Training Managers (UTMs). The incumbent provides policy interpretation, as directed through the FDO, from Headquarters (HQ) and Major Command (MAJCOM) levels, ensuring the seamless integration of these policies into all unit-level training programs. (35%) 2. Coordinates Career Development Course (CDC) and Upgrade Training Oversight. Validates and tracks all CDC actions, waiver requests, and reenrollments from subordinate units. Provides guidance and quality assurance of CDC administration across the assigned organizations. Oversees Upgrade Training (UGT) status and ensures timely compliance with 36-month reviews and training documentation. Acts as liaison between units and Force Support Squadron (FSS), Force Development (FDO) for CDC failures and Wing Commander actions. (20%) 3. Conducts Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) and Evaluates Unit Training Programs. Leads SAVs at each unit within the assigned organizations every 36 to assess compliance and readiness. Documents findings identifies training shortfalls and provides written feedback to commanders. Tracks corrective actions and provides consultation on policy implementation. Consolidates and briefs Group Commander or Director on Training Performance Metrics (TPMs) monthly. (20%) 4. Manages Formal Schools and Distance Learning Integration. Coordinates all formal school allocations and attendance, including 7-level and PME quotas. Ensures prerequisite validation and communicates requirements to UTMs. Oversees Distributed Learning programs and equipment management. Tracks course material security and scheduling. (15%) 5. Supports Commander-Level Board Processes and Force Development Initiatives. Manages the Professional Development Board submissions. Reviews nominations, prepares selection recommendations, and assists in the preparation of board packages. Advises applicants and consolidates recommendations for Group Commander or Director action. (10%) Performs other duties as assigned.
