Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including Saguaro interpretive activities, hiking trails, etc. Distribute maps and brochures, inform visitors of potential safety hazards, and provide directions. Prepare and complete remittance reports for funds collected and perform assignments in accordance with all NPS and U.S. Treasury regulations governing the handling and remitting of government funds. Review and verify the functionality of new fee related systems or modifications to existing systems as a result of regulatory and program requirements. Review and verify the accuracy of manuals and/or standard operating procedures for the implementation of new and existing system designs and/or modifications. Provide informal and formal training and education to employees, volunteers, interns, cooperating association representatives, etc. regarding automated and non-automated fee processes, systems, software programs, tools, etc.Education

Physical Demands: This position requires standing for long periods of time, as well as walking, bending, lifting of moderately heavy items. Mental stress and physical fatigue occur due to the high volume of personal contacts and the responsibility of dealing with large amounts of money. Working Conditions: This position typically works at an entrance station, campground office, fee office, remit office, visitor center, and/or visitor contact station. Work is often performed in small, outdoor structures with open windows which results in exposure to extremes of temperature, rain, snow, wind, and direct sunlight. High levels of vehicle noise and emissions may exist during heavy visitation periods. Duties may be performed alone and/or in isolated locations.
