Summary

You will serve as a Recreation Fee Clerk (Seasonal), in the Administrative Division. This is a temporary position with an initial appointment limited to one year or less, but may be extended for a total of 2 years. It does not confer permanent status. Major Duties

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Collect appropriate fees the park recreation fee office while providing excellent customer service and refer issues to a higher graded employee or supervisor when necessary. Operate an electronic cash register, computer, or point-of-sale (POS) system to conduct financial transactions. Perform opening and closing shift functions. Issue entrance receipts, permits, park passes in accordance with established guidelines. Process refunds as needed. Complete shift reports to verify money collected, accountable stock sold, and all machine transactions from the shift, using shift accountability, receipt tapes, and register of voided transactions. Safeguard funds collected and accountable stock under the incumbent's control. Use automated reservation systems to process routine, simple payments, transactions, and reservations for campgrounds, tours, tickets, backcountry permits, Special Use permits, etc. Systems may include but are not limited to Recreation.gov and other automated platforms. Utilize fee program related technologies and equipment that include hardware, software and peripheral devices such as hand-held devices, computers, POS equipment, tablets, mobile phones, scanning devices, AFMs and reservation systems in accordance with established guidelines.

Education

Requirements

Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. This position will be filled under the Field Unit Local Hiring Authority. Eligibility is limited to applicants who reside within the defined local commuting area at the time of application. For this announcement, the local commuting area is the area from which individuals can reasonably commute to the duty station under normal conditions. The defined vicinity for Harkers Island, NC is defined as 50 miles from the Cape Lookout National Seashore is located at 1800 Island Road, Harkers Island, NC 28531.
