The incumbent serves as a District Maintenance Foreman and directly supervises road maintenance for an assigned unit, overseeing 3 to 8 equipment operators, laborers, and other required personnel.Major Duties
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: The incumbent is responsible for the accomplishment of maintenance activities on BLM access roads located in the assigned area. Included is the responsibility in the overall technical quality of all work performed, as well as the condition and appearance of the roadway and right-of-way. Ensures proper use and maintenance of all assigned equipment, both light and heavy-duty equipment, such as gasoline or diesel power tractors, trucks and motor graders as well as hand tools and other equipment. Ability to operate equipment at the journeyman level and routinely operate gasoline, diesel powered motor graders, dump trucks, loaders, bulldozers, backhoe, brush cutter, sweeper, excavator, roller, chip spreader, various hand operated tools. Responsible for planning the daily work of the crew and equipment as well as the methods and procedures to be used for all assigned maintenance activities. Adjusts work assignments of subordinates to take the best advantage of weather conditions, time, manpower and equipment available.Education

Working Conditions: This position requires work both indoors and outdoors, with the majority of duties performed outdoors.
