Assist in the measurement or determination of distances, elevations, areas, angles, land boundaries, and other features of the earth's surface. Assists in setting survey monuments; this requires digging holes with shovels and rock bars for prolonged periods. Prepares or reviews the preparation of field notes, random lined diagrams, and computations to determine whether closures are within prescribed lines of accuracy. Enters and retrieves data from data bases. Position requires use of motor vehicles. In most cases this will be a 4-wheel drive or ATV. Drafts Field Notes and Plats for the survey returns to be reviewed by the survey team lead. Writes draft Reports of Survey Investigation for analysis and decision by the survey team lead.Education
