About BTG Pactual
BTG Pactual Europe is part of BTG Pactual Group, the largest investment bank in Latin America, offering specialized services across Wealth Management, Asset Management, Investment Banking, Corporate Lending, and Sales & Trading. Founded in 1983, BTG Pactual has built a strong reputation through its meritocratic partnership culture, client-centric approach, pursuit of excellence, and long-term vision. Today, the Group employs more than 12,000 professionals across offices in Brazil, the United States, Luxembourg, the UK, Portugal, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Argentina. Combining a solid balance sheet with state-of-the-art technology, BTG Pactual delivers global advisory services designed to protect and grow clients’ wealth. BTG Pactual Europe is a Luxembourg-based credit institution regulated by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF). The role
This role is the primary interface between Finance and IT at both BTG Pactual Europe and headquarters levels, responsible for ensuring that new financial products are correctly integrated into the bank's finance and regulatory reporting infrastructure. It sits at a critical junction: the bank is building out its regulatory reporting stack, expanding its product range (including derivatives), and absorbing a recently completed core banking migration.
The successful candidate will have enough financial and technical fluency to challenge assumptions, pressure-test system design decisions, and drive efficient outcomes — without being a pure technologist. This is fundamentally a finance role that requires technical credibility. The role has potential travel to Madrid and Lisbon branches as required.

Daily Responsibilities
Product & System Integration
- Own the end-to-end integration of new financial products (including derivatives: NDF, IRS, CCS, TRS) into Finance and regulatory reporting workflows.
- Define business requirements for system changes and translate them into clear, actionable specifications for IT and vendors.
- Review and validate data mappings, system outputs, and reporting logic for accuracy and completeness.
- Support the implementation and ongoing development of WKFS / Regnology, with a focus on COREP, FINREP, and liquidity reporting.
- Ensure data flows from Avaloq and other source systems are correctly aligned with regulatory reporting requirements.
- Participate in testing phases, review outputs, and escalate issues with appropriate context and documentation.
- Act as a credible counterpart to IT, vendors, and external consultants — challenging proposals on both business logic and practical feasibility.
- Coordinate across Finance, Risk, IT (at both local and group levels), and external parties to maintain clear communication and timely delivery.
- Identify and flag inconsistencies between business needs and proposed technical solutions before they become delivery issues.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes, increase automation, and improve the reliability and efficiency of Finance workflows.
- Document processes and system logic to build institutional knowledge and support audit and regulatory review.
Required
- 5–7 years of experience in a finance, regulatory reporting, or finance systems role within a bank or financial institution.
- Solid working knowledge of financial products, including at minimum a working familiarity with derivatives (NDF, IRS, CCS, TRS).
- Hands-on experience with regulatory reporting frameworks — COREP, FINREP, and/or liquidity reporting (LCR/NSFR).
- Experience contributing to or leading system implementation or process improvement projects in a finance context.
- Ability to read and interrogate data mappings, system configurations, and reporting outputs — not as a developer, but as an informed business owner.
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to translate between finance and technical teams without losing precision.
- Fluency in English.
- Direct experience with Avaloq (core banking) and/or Regnology / WKFS (regulatory reporting platform).
- Familiarity with IFRS 9 financial instrument accounting, particularly classification and measurement.
- Exposure to a rapidly scaling or recently restructured banking environment.
- Experience working across multiple regulatory jurisdictions (Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, or broader EU).
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure where it does not yet exist.
- Constructively assertive — ability to push back on IT or vendor proposals with substance, not just instinct.
- Detail-oriented but able to maintain perspective on what matters for the business.
