Trinity County Resource Conservation District is accepting applications for the position of Forest Health Project Coordinator, Fuels Program. The Project Coordinator reports to the Fuels Program Manager. Full-time with flexible scheduling, paid leave, and medical benefits. Candidates from this announcement may fill future vacancies.Required Qualifications: 3+ years combined education and professional experience in natural resources with project development/coordination/implementation (including budgets and personnel); proficiency with Microsoft Office, ESRI ArcGIS, GPS software/hardware; contract writing/administration/monitoring; supervisory skills; partnership development; excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills; ability to perform physical labor outdoors in rugged terrain and inclement weather; valid CA driver’s license with clean record.Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of environmental policies/regulations (NEPA/CEQA); four-year degree in a relevant field; knowledge of CAL FIRE CFIP and NRCS EQIP; professional licenses/training (RPF, Arborist, Engineer, USFS NEPA ID Team Leader, Archaeologist, etc.); forestry practices for forest health/fuels reduction/prescribed fire/watershed restoration; experience managing contracts and operations (mastication/fuels crews); knowledge of T&E species, carbon, rare plants, wetlands; native plant ID; knowledge of prescribed burning operations and willingness to obtain qualifications up to Burn Boss.Duties: Assist in proposal development; design and implement forestry and fuels reduction projects, including prescribed burning; prepare/award/oversee contracts; participate in staff evaluations; oversee heavy equipment operation; conduct on-site inspections; maintain daily logs; provide crew oversight; ensure equipment logs/materials; create project maps/prescriptions; conduct monitoring and recommend improvements; develop reports/presentations; other duties as assigned.Pay, Benefits, & Working Environment: Office work ~65%, outdoor/event work ~35%. Mileage reimbursed at federal rate if District vehicle unavailable. Upon hiring: drug test, valid CA DL, current auto insurance, and driving record required. Equal opportunity employer.
