Natural Climate Solutions Strategy Lead
The Nature Conservancy
What We Can Achieve Together:
The Natural Climate Solutions Strategy Lead is responsible for shaping and leading a compelling vision and strategy to accelerate the deployment of natural climate solutions (NCS) in North America. The Strategy lead provides strategic leadership and support for all aspects of a multi-faceted strategy that includes carbon markets, state and federal land management, tax, and climate policy, and corporate engagement. They establish the Conservancy as a leader in advancing natural climate solutions to mitigate climate change, lead and manage a team which carries out the strategy, and builds strategic, scientific, and technical partnerships to advance the strategy goals. In collaboration with the Climate Mitigation Program Director, they play a leading role in donor identification, cultivation and stewardship. May require frequent travel domestically and evening and weekend hours.
We’re Looking for You:
Want to help ensure that nature is a key part of the solution to climate change? TNC’s scientist have determined that natural climate solutions could deliver up to a third of the emission reductions needed globally by 2030 to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. These solutions harness the power of nature to capture and store carbon in ecosystems and include practices like improving forest management to help forest owners increase the carbon stored in their trees and restoring wetlands to sequester carbon in submerged soil. This is an exceptional career opportunity for a highly motivated, capable individual interested in joining the world’s leading conservation organization!
