Position Overview
Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. (WSSI) is seeking an experienced Stormwater Engineer with 7+ years of relevant experience to join our team in Millersville, Maryland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, stormwater BMP design, SWPPP development, and MS4 permits, TMDLs, and environmental regulations and compliance. The successful candidate must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Water Resources, Civil, or Environmental Engineering and have Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) and Stormwater Management (SWM) Plan Reviewer certifications, or be able to obtain the required certifications within one year of employment.
This position will support a variety of stormwater and environmental projects, including stormwater management design, erosion and sediment control plan review, regulatory compliance, inspections, reporting, SWPPP development, and client coordination. Experience with AutoCAD, particularly Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or GIS applications is preferred. Experience with project and personnel management is a plus.
Job Duties
SWM/LID/BMP design
ESC and Stormwater Plan Review
Working with local and state government clients on TMDL and MS4 regulatory compliance issues
Hydraulic analysis and design of open and closed drainage systems
Storm drain analysis and design
Hydrologic watershed analysis
SWPPP development
Other civil and environmentally related studies
Autodesk® computer-aided design work
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Water Resources, Civil, or Environmental Engineering
Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) ESC and SWM Plan Reviewer certifications, or ability to obtain within one year of employment
Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, SWMM, and TR-55
PREFERRED:
Experience with closed storm drain system design and analysis
Experience with the Clean Water Act and Chesapeake Bay regulations
Experience working with MS4 permits, TMDLs, and regulatory compliance
Experience with MicroStation and/or GIS applications
Project management experience
Personnel management or team leadership experience
