Essential Functions:
- Supervises and coordinates all non-clinical line staff as assigned.
- Creates and manages line staff schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage.
- Monitors staff adherence to protocols including hourly rounds, checks, visitor procedures, and patient movement.
- Provides on shift coaching, conflict de-escalation and role modeling of professionalism.
- Responds to patient behavioral issues and safety incidents, following program policy.
- Coordinates with nursing and clinical teams to support intake, discharge, and crisis response
- Leads daily line staff check ins or huddles and communication with leadership.
- Monitors PPE use, laundry, meal set up, room assignments, and safety supplies.
- Performs basic maintenance of Great Circle Recovery facilities and equipment; including but not limited to; minor building and equipment repairs, collects and deposits cardboard, change lightbulbs, moves and assembles office furniture, etc.
- Inspects and reviews work in assigned areas to ensure that cleanliness, efficiencies, safety standards, and completion is met.
- Schedules various building maintenance, repair and construction tasks.
- Schedules routine and preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles; obtains outside estimates for major repairs and writes specifications for replacement of obsolete equipment.
- Uses a computerized maintenance management system to maintain appropriate records related to maintenance repair activities, preventive maintenance programs, budgeting and scheduling.
- Maintains facilities keying, locks, electronic security systems, and alarms, and reports any security breaches or other problems to supervisor.
- Schedules appropriate furniture and equipment set up for Tribal meeting.
- Establishes and maintains relationship with vendors and purchases maintenance supplies and equipment, avoiding any conflicts of interest.
- Identifies existing or potential facility deficiencies and takes appropriate action to correct them.
- Follows established practices and procedures outlined by tribal policies, operational plan, and preventative and maintenance management program.
- Conducts safety and preventative maintenance inspections of the Tribes buildings and systems for all Tribal facilities.
- Serves as member of Safety Committee. Ensures safety protocols are followed and conducts practice drills for staff.
- Performs clinic delivery and pick up items for the needs of the clinic from Tribal campus as requested by supervisor.
- Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Supervisory:
- Ensures the hiring, training, promoting, assigning, disciplining and discharging of employees are in accordance with Tribal Law, including without limitation, the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO).
- Assures staff adherence to all policies and procedures, work, safety and administrative rule, Tribal Law and State Regulations.
- Serves as a mentor, as requested, for Tribal career development.
Education, Experience, and Licenses:
- Requires a High School diploma or GED equivalency. Associates degree in a related subject preferred.
- Requires a minimum of three (3) years of facilities maintenance experience. Specialized experience carpentry and basic plumbing preferred.
- Requires one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of basic crisis intervention de-escalation techniques and trauma informed care.
- OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Driving Requirements:
- Must maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license or obtain one upon hire, qualify for the Tribe’s vehicle insurance, and provide proof of personal vehicle insurance.
Qualifications, Registrations, and Certifications:
- If a recovering chemically dependent person must be in a program of recovery and able to provide documentation of sobriety for a minimum of two years.
- Must have the ability to operate a variety of equipment and power tools safely.
- Must have knowledge in areas of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and locksmith trades in order to direct and perform preventive and demand maintenance of buildings, building systems, equipment, grounds, utilities, and security hardware.
- Must have knowledge of effective oral and written communication skills sufficient to direct others in maintenance procedures and to present project information including reports, scopes of work, cost estimates, and maintenance contracts.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to Native American culture required.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Continually requires the ability to express or receive detailed information or important instructions through oral communication.
- Continually requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm. Requires repetitive movement of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
- Requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time, raising objects from a lower to a higher position and/or moving objects horizontally.
- Often requires gripping tools and operating tools and light machinery.
- Often requires lifting of up to 75 pounds, occasionally more.
- Occasionally works ten hours or longer a day, nights and weekends.
- Must be on call 24 hours to respond to any security problems or fire alarms.
- Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
- The worker is frequently subject to inside and outside environmental conditions which may or may not provide protection from weather conditions.
- Work is typically performed under reasonably good working conditions; while exposure to dust, fumes, dirt, noise, heat, cold, and water may occur, such exposure is generally not present to the extent of being disagreeable.
- Supports a safe work environment by performing all duties in accordance with Tribal safety policies and procedures, and Emergency Management Plan.
- Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
- May be called upon to serve as a Disaster Reservist during emergencies.
- Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required.
