GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


General Description: The Range Operations Scheduling Manager at Camp Guernsey schedules, confirms, and locks in range, training area, and airspace resources for users in accordance with published guidance, SOPs, and policies. The position uses the Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) as the database of record to support training priorities of the Commander, installations, and the senior mission Commander.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.


  • Provides users with authorized range, training area, or airspace facility resources for their training schedule, based on automated and non-automated requests, availability, co-use requirements, and capability. (30%)
  • Deconflicts firing or training scheduling overlap, utilization requirements, and short-suspense requests to best support training priorities of the Commander, installations, and senior mission Commander. (30%)
  • Provides a check and balance for range safety functions, Surface Danger Zone (SDZ) verification, and range safety certification as required by the Range Manager, Range Safety Officer, and Operations Officer. (30%)

Qualifications


PREFERENCES:


Preference may be given to candidates with demonstrated RFMSS experience; range operations or military training-support scheduling experience; Range Safety Level 1 (or equivalent); and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and task-tracking tools such as Trello.

KNOWLEDGE:


  • Knowledge of RFMSS (Range Facility Management Support System) as the database of record for range and training-area scheduling.
  • Knowledge of range safety concepts including Surface Danger Zones (SDZ), range safety certification, and published range/training-area guidance, SOPs, and policies.
  • Skill with Microsoft Suite products and ability to coordinate internally and externally with staff, customers, and command elements; related systems/training include Range Safety Level 1, Cyber Awareness, AT & OPSEC Level 1, and Trello.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:
Associate's Degree (typically in The Sciences)
Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in The Sciences)
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in The Sciences)

Necessary Special Requirements

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is performed at Camp Guernsey, Wyoming, in a range operations environment supporting live-fire and maneuver training. The position requires coordination with range safety and operations staff and use of computer-based scheduling systems. A valid driver’s license is preferred for movement on the installation. Confirm any additional physical requirements with the hiring supervisor before posting.
