ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.- Partner with both the finance and contracts teams to support the day-to-day operations of the division.
- Monitor internal controls and help ensure processes are followed accurately and efficiently.
- Serve as a go-to resource for coworkers by troubleshooting questions and resolving process-related issues.
- Research, analyze, and interpret financial data to support decision-making and operational improvements.
- Review fiscal reports and conduct special financial studies as needed.
- Recommend updates to financial policies and procedures that improve efficiency and accountability.
- Track contract-related payments to ensure they are processed accurately and on time—always aligned with contract terms.
- Support the drafting, coordination, and management of contracts across programs, working closely with staff to identify needs and ensure accuracy.
- Help coordinate Requests for Proposals (RFPs), assist with writing RFP documents, and monitor the state’s Public Purchase website for bid activity.
- Ensure compliance with applicable state laws, rules, and internal policies for both financial and contractual processes.
Qualifications

PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to candidates with experience using accounting or financial management systems.
KNOWLEDGE:- Knowledge of financial calculations
Knowledge of internal control processes
Knowledge of Excel
Skills in interpersonal relations
Skills in computerized accounting systems
Ability to use critical thinking techniques to identify strengths, weaknesses, alternative solutions, and conclusions to problems
Ability to calculate, evaluate, and analyze financial data
Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
Ability to exercise judgment in applying established procedures and regulations
Ability to organize, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently under pressure
Ability to self-motivate and work autonomously with limited supervision
Ability to be detail-oriented and accurate
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to actively learn and interpret information as it applies to the position
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance)Experience:0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accounting TechnicianOREducation & Experience Substitution:3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accounting TechnicianCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:None Necessary Special Requirements
