GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Staff the Curt Gowdy State Park Visitor Center, providing excellent customer service. Promote Wyoming's natural resources and the State of Wyoming for its recreational and educational opportunities. Provide accurate and timely accounting. Maintain the indoor and outdoor facilities at the Visitor Center in a neat and safe manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.- Ensure visitors' needs are professionally met. Explain park regulations and policies. Provide information on Wyoming's cultural and natural resources, recreational opportunities, and local, regional, and statewide events.
- Create a positive Wyoming experience to promote longer stays and repeat trips to our wonderful state.
- Coordinate, train, and actively participate with seasonal and volunteer workers.
- Direct seasonal and volunteer workers in all aspects of cleaning and enhancing the Visitor Center, including public spaces, the showers, restrooms, and the conference room.
- Responsible for the required bookkeeping and reporting of rental fees and reservations collected in the Visitor Center. This includes rental fees and/or reservations for Hynds Lodge, the Amphitheater, Camp Jack, group shelters, Archery Range, shower facilities, and the Visitor Center conference room.
- Collect cash register receipts, credit card receipts, checks, and cash from the fee booths at Crystal Reservoir, Granite Reservoir, and the Curt Gowdy Visitor Center. Complete all necessary reports to track, balance, and report sales made by the fee collectors to the Headquarters office.
- Sell overnight camping, day use, annual entrance, annual camping, and ORV permits at the Visitor Center. Complete all necessary forms to track, balance, and report your own daily sales to Headquarters.
- Order, display, and sell merchandise at the Visitor Center.
- Obtain the educational and vacation material needed to distribute to visitors and residents about Wyoming from Federal and State agencies, private agencies, and travel and tourism centers.
- Stock and maintain the brochure rack.
- Print and distribute reports from the campsite reservation system.
- Check in visitors arriving with overnight reservations. Ensure park maintenance and law enforcement staff have the reservation information (names, arrival dates, departure dates), and report any discrepancies to park or law enforcement staff.
- Communicate via phone, letter, fax, or e-mail, fielding inquiries and/or needs for Wyoming visitors, public events, government agencies, community services, museums, travel centers, WYDOT, etc.
- Collect and sort incoming mail.
Qualifications

PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to applicants with three or more years of professional work experience in customer service, and money handling and reporting.
KNOWLEDGE:- Provide excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of the park's trail system.
- Ability to keep the public facilities in a neat and safe manner.
- Ability to react decisively and professionally in emergencies.
- Skills in bookkeeping and balancing sales receipts.
- Skills in using a computer, fax, copier, and office equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy boxes and brochures.
- Ability to be a team player and to work independently.
- Skills in overseeing and training seasonals and volunteers, utilizing teamwork strategies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Associate's Degree (typically in Business)Experience:Acquired knowledge at the level of an Office Assistant IOREducation & Experience Substitution:1-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business Office Communications) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Office Assistant ICertificates, Licenses, Registrations:None
Necessary Special Requirements

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there is some cleaning, snow removal, walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving, etc.
- Some work will be performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
