What we are looking for:
The NRS2 in this position will participate and accomplish the implementation of the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) & Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) Statewide Agreement within the District, including the coordination with NRCS and other partners in development and implementation of projects. Will be responsible for identifying, developing, and coordinating project activities that integrate the capacities of ODF, contractors, and NRCS staff. The position will have to develop relationships with agency partners, stakeholders, local collaborative leaders, and participants. Will link the NRCS Program with other District & Agency priorities. The position also serves an important function in the Agency’s Forest Resources Program.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience in forestry or a natural resource program area AND A bachelor's degree in forestry or a natural resource program area.
OR
Three additional years of closely related (pertinent) experience for a total of 5 yrs experience.
Note: Driver’s License Check - This position requires the operation of a state vehicle for the purpose of conducting official State business. If your license is from outside Oregon, you must submit at least a three-year court/DMV printout. If you have an Oregon driver’s license, a record check will be conducted on the top candidate to ensure a valid license and acceptable driving record.

- Ability to work independently with limited supervision on special projects; ability to communicate technical data and concepts orally and in writing.
- Proficiency in mapping or GPS equipment and programs.
- Knowledge in writing forest management prescriptions and taking sampling data.
- Ability to work effectively with other Department field and staff and professionals in federal agencies organizations.
- Ability to write clearly and effectively communicate orally with co-workers, other ODF staff and policymakers.
- Able to establish and maintain good working relationships with external cooperators, field managers and department personnel subject to program audits in order to effectively implement changes.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software to communicate information and technical data.
