The Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) is hiring for one permanent, full-time Liquor Distribution Worker 1, Equipment Operator on Day Shift (6:00 am to 2:30 pm). This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a state agency that is the third-largest generator of state revenue.
The successful candidate will receive a differential which will be 2.5% of the employee’s base salary for the additional equipment operator duties.
What will you do?
You will perform the duties necessary to move distilled spirits through the distribution center in preparation for shipment to liquor stores throughout the State of Oregon. You will operate all motorized equipment used in the distribution center, including a 5,000-lb forklift and 3,000-lb remote order selector. Equipment is used for loading and unloading inbound freight, palletizing, stocking, and filling flow racks with merchandise.
Who are we?
The OLCC is the agency responsible for regulating the sale and service of alcoholic beverages in Oregon by administering the state's Liquor Control Act and regulating the production, processing and sale of recreational marijuana in Oregon through the Control, Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana and Industrial Hemp Act. The agency also regulates the production, processing and sale of medical products sold to Oregon Medical Marijuana Program cardholders in OLCC licensed marijuana shops.
The agency is comprised of three major operational programs: the Distilled Spirits Program, the Recreational Marijuana Program, and the Public Safety Program. All three programs are supported by the Administration, Financial Services, and Support Services divisions. Revenue generated from these programs helps support state and local government programs. The OLCC distributed more than $625 million in the last two years to Oregon programs, cities and counties. This money helps fund essential services such as schools, police, and public health programs for Oregonians.
Working Conditions:
Typical warehouse environment that includes limited exposure to daily weather conditions, elevated noise level on the conveyor system, and close proximity to heavy moving equipment.
What are some of the supporting duties?
Operate forklift to unload inbound merchandise, and as necessary, re-stack product that has shifted in transit.
Transport received merchandise to bulk storage locations within distribution center using a forklift and radio frequency (RF) scanner.
Use a forklift, RF scanner and Warehouse Management System (WMS) to restock full pallets of merchandise within the distribution center and to locate overstock product and load onto OLCC trailers and trucks to transfer between facilities.
Operate a 3,000-lb remote order selector to pick full cases from multiple pick locations and varying heights.
Use supplied labels to pick full cases of liquor for outbound orders from pallets, racking, and staged areas and load product onto the conveyor system by hand.
Use RF scanner to pick product from storage locations and/or staging areas and restock product to flow racks as directed by scanner.
Work in repack section as needed and to ensure cross-training on all LDW-1 duties.
Operate shrink-wrap machine to wrap and seal all repack (split-case orders) cases for stability and security during loading, staging, and unloading.
Use an RF scanner to access and fill will call, samples, and non-agent orders.
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of general warehouse experience or six months of experience as a Liquor Distribution Worker 1 with the OLCC.
This must have included some experience or training in operating one or more of the following pieces of equipment:
forklift, riding pallet jack, electric cart or remote order AND
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Special Requirements:
This position is required to complete and hold internally issued Forklift Certification.
This position is required to be proficient in the use of all OLCC equipment, including electric utility carts, 5,000-lb. capacity electric powered forklifts, electric sweeper, propane sweeper, 3,000-lb remote order selector, electric pallet jack, and electric riding pallet jack.

The salary listed is the Public Employee Retirement Systems (PERS) qualifying base salary range of Liquor Distribution Worker 1. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the 6.95% increase.
There is potential for occasional overtime.
This position requires a background check. Adverse background and security check results may be grounds for disqualification. *** Background check with fingerprinting to work in areas that handle confidential documents is optional and can be requested by the incumbent.
This position is represented by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Union (AFSCME), Local 2505.
