The Oregon State Fire Marshal (OSFM) in Salem, Oregon is hiring for one (1) full-time, permanent Fire and Life Safety Education Office Support (Office Specialist 2) position.

As the Fire and Life Safety Education Office Support, you will be responsible for purchasing, storing, inventorying, distributing, and shipping campaign supplies; creating letters, memos, meeting minutes, and other correspondence; coordinating staff travel plans and itineraries; maintaining files; and much more.

Minimum Qualifications (these must be described in your resume for full consideration):

Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR

An associate degree in any field; OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Qualifications:

  • Requires a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and reprioritize due to ever-changing assignments and deadlines.

  • Demonstrated customer service skills both internally and with external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize a variety of computer programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member both internally and externally with our stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with programs and processes both independently and with a team.
