The Oregon Military Department is a state agency that supports the Oregon National Guard. You are NOT required to be a member of the Oregon National Guard to apply for this position.
The Oregon Military Department is recruiting for a Security Operations Supervisor 2. This is a permanent full-time state position located at Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
This position is classified as Management Service and is not represented by a union.

What You Will be Doing
Coordinate and manage resource protection and security force activities at Kingsley Field. This includes management of positions funded under the Security Cooperative Funding Agreement (Resource Protection Personnel). Provide resource protection/security services to ensure the security and protection of mission essential operational resources, property, and personnel assigned to host/tenant units. The State Security Manager (SSM) will manage the State Security program in providing the following services: installation entry control, installation patrol (perimeter fence line checks, building/area checks), priority area checks (PL 1/2/3/4), armed response to alarm activation's or intrusions, pass and registration services and administrative support. State Security Manager will manage functions under the direction of the Security Force Commander (DFC)/Security Forces Manager (SFM).
Working Conditions
State Security Manager (SSM) is subject to work all hours all days as mission requires in coordination with the SFM or SFO. SSM is required to bear firearms in the performance of duty, and perform those duties in all weather conditions, on all shifts. SSM may be exposed to noxious fumes such as vehicle and aircraft exhaust and high noise areas. SSM may be exposed to hazardous materials as a first responder. The SSM performs duties primarily in an office setting.
Skills/Experience for Success in this Position
Ability to observe and maintain confidentiality regarding all incidents that occur to protect the rights of individuals and the integrity of investigations in accordance with laws, rules, and policies.
Ability to operate radio communication equipment (LMRs) and operate computers, fax machines, typewriters and other office equipment.
Possess a working knowledge of the principles and application resource protection, physical security, crowd control, operations safety and fire prevention and reporting.
Assists in writing and reviewing Installation Security instructions and directives.
Must understand, interpret, and explain rules, regulations, and policies, and be able to apply them fairly to the installation population.
Experience creating, managing and maintaining a program budget is required for this position.
What You Need to Qualify
Four (4) years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience to armed security, law enforcement, military, or corrections.
***OR***
One (1) year of related experience.
-AND-
A bachelors degree in Criminal Justice or related degree.

Additional Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record to retain position.
The successful candidate must successfully complete a psychological evaluation prior to beginning employment.
Must authorize access to a National Crime Information Check (NCIC) for initial employment.
Conditions of Employment
The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DoD SECRET security clearance and eligibility to obtain a USAF Restricted Area Badge. Duties and responsibilities include unescorted access to restricted areas that may contain classified equipment or materials up to secret level.
Must never have been convicted of domestic violence or have ever been convicted of a felony in order to gain and maintain employment.
To retain employment incumbent must possess or be able to possess and maintain a favorable completed National Agency Check in order to receive and retain an AF Form 1199 restricted area badge and obtain and maintain AF Form 2293, U.S. Air Force Motor Vehicle Identification Card.
Must be able to certify with assigned duty weapon upon initial employment and as required thereafter, within three attempts. Utilizes personnel protective equipment to include bullet proof vests, safety glasses while qualifying at the weapons range, hearing protection and blood borne pathogen equipment.
The successful candidate will be required to train on military equipment, vehicles, and maintain proficiency consistent with military expectations.
Employee is required to maintain a drug/alcohol free workplace in accordance with OMD Drug/Alcohol CPM’s, Policies, and the Statewide Drug Free Workplace Policy 50-000-01.
