The Department of Administrative Services (“DAS”) is the central administrative agency that leads state government to implement the policy and budget decisions of the Governor and Oregon Legislature. The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for enterprise-wide fiscal planning and policy leadership. The CFO provides guidance, training, and direction to ensure fiscal integrity and consistency across state agencies. The Office routinely represents the Governor with other elected officials, political subdivisions, other states, and investment houses. Specific policy sections within the Office include Budget Policy (BAM), Statewide Audit and Budget Reporting (SABRS), Capital Finance and Planning, and the Office of the State Controller.
What You’ll Do
As the SFMS Technician you are responsible for proper, consistent vendor information in Statewide Financial Management Application (SFMA.) The SFMS Technician resolves vendor problems and proposes system adaptations and corrections as necessary. You will review, correct, monitor, and activate statewide vendor profile records and vendor forms to ensure compliance with policies. Partnering with agencies to ensure all vendor-related transactions, balance types, profiles, etc., are processed properly and completely in SFMA.

This Is What You Need to Qualify
Two years of experience calculating, recording, and maintaining accounting information that must include coding transactions and checking them for propriety, balancing, and resolving discrepancies in computer edits; OR
One year of experience calculating, recording, and maintaining accounting information that must include coding transactions and checking them for propriety, balancing, and resolving discrepancies in computer edits AND at least 43 quarter (29 semester) credit hours from an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school that includes 9 quarter (6 semester) credit hours in accounting. Credit hours must include introductory level accounting courses 1 and 2; OR
Successful completion of the State of Oregon Accounting Career Mobility Program or equivalent accounting certificate program from an accredited college or university; OR
At least 94 quarter (62 semester) credit hours or an associate degree from an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school that includes 12 quarter (8 semester) credit hours in accounting. Credit hours must include introductory level accounting courses 1 and 2 and may include any additional accounting courses with “accounting” in the title.
Note: Training or experience must include using a computer to enter, update, or retrieve information.
The ideal candidate will possess the following desired skills and attributes:
Requires basic knowledge of government accounting policies, reconciliation processes, and automated transaction-based accounting processes and systems.
Knowledge or experience in IRS TIN matching and general understanding of tax reporting status.
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications skills at a professional level.
Demonstrated experience with computers connected to a LAN with ability to use a variety of software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Experience providing classroom, training and seminar presentations.
Must be highly organized and demonstrate the ability to manage conflicting priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail in meeting numerous firm deadlines with frequent interruptions in their daily work schedules.

This announcement is for one, full-time, permanent, SEIU Represented, SFMS Technician (Accounting Technician )position and may be used to fill future vacancies.
The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%.
