Your New Role

Cape Blanco State Park is one of Oregon’s most treasured coastal destinations, with more than eight miles of hiking trails that lead to the beach, viewpoints of ocean vistas, fishing spots along the Sixes River, and the lighthouse. On horseback, follow a seven-mile trail or enjoy a 150-acre open riding area across from the horse camp.

As a permanent full-time Park Specialist here, your work will be the essential backbone that supports this vibrant, dynamic environment. You will enable rangers and field staff to focus on preserving natural beauty and delivering outstanding visitor experiences by ensuring operations run flawlessly behind the scenes.

Your role matters deeply not only to the park’s daily function but to the larger community and agency mission. Through your administrative expertise and collaborative spirit, you help maintain public trust, safeguard sensitive information, and foster a positive team culture. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience as an administrative or program support specialist. Administrative support entails those duties beyond clerical or secretarial such as: interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations; administrative data collection and analysis; evaluation and explanation of administrative processes, operations, or projects;

OR

  • An equivalent combination of training and experience.


Note: One year of post-secondary education may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience.

Special Requirements:

  • To be hired, a criminal record and driving record check must be completed that meets OPRD Criteria at the time of hire, and throughout employment while also maintaining a valid driver’s license.
