This position is located in the Business Office in the Houma Subdistrict 02 office. This position functions as DOTD procurement and must possess an extensive knowledge of DOTD procurement and accounting policies and procedures in accordance with Louisiana and Federal guideline. The incumbent of this position participates in a career progression group (CPG) with the highest level of Accounting Technician (AS 611). - One year of experience or training in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, or financial operations or computations.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Job Duties and Other Information

JOB DUTIES:
- Accounting Services: Incumbent receives, prepares, and enters invoices from external vendors for payment on a daily basis and has responsibility for ensuring accurate processing of all payables, which requires the ability to make decisions to ensure coding is consistent with District's budget allocation and District policy. Accountable for accurate budget reporting through auditing expenditures prior to payment; confirming validity of charges; proper coding.
- Incumbent is responsible for recording contract payables via Standard or Confirming Purchase Order requiring working knowledge of DOTD procurement policies and procedures.
- Reconcile invoice, goods receipt, and purchase order, process payment.
- Incumbent audits inventory levels of contract items against Goods Receipt For correct posting to each storage location.
- Creates and forwards payable package to Financial Services via Content Manager on a daily basis.
- Incumbent serves as liaison and/or contact person with Vendors as well as internal and external customers, concerning payment information and/or discrepancies. Create and implement Vendor Registration process to ensure successful transition for new vendors.
POSITION SPECIFIC DETAILS:
Career Progression: As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as an Accounting Specialist 1-2 or Accounting Technician on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). The maximum salary for the Accounting Technician is $5,734.00 per month.
Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a Detail to Special Duty or a Probationary appointment requiring 6-24 months on probation.
Accounting Specialist 1 - $15.43/hourly SER
Accounting Specialist 2 - $16.51//hourly SER
