The Division of Administration is the state government’s management arm and the hub of its financial operations. Division offices perform a wide variety of activities including the following:- Overseeing the state’s capital construction program
- Working to provide state and federal grants for community development
- Development of the state budget
- Providing technology services
- Giving agencies guidance in the state purchasing and contracting process as they seek goods and services
- Administering a program that provides federal funds to help Louisiana residents recover from a series of devastating hurricanes
The Office of Technology Services aims to be a responsible partner in delivering innovative, effective, and reliable solutions that support and enhance the IT functions within Executive Branch Departments. The Office of Technology Services will work to increase the return on the State's investment in technology by promoting smart decision-making, solving problems intelligently, increasing the rate of project success, and fostering a skilled and professional staff.This position reports to the EUC IT Statewide Systems Support Engineer and provides field-based technical support for end-user computing (EUC) services. EUC serves as the first point of contact for statewide IT incidents, requests, and issues, supporting more than 30,000 users across 720+ locations through five service areas: Field Operations, Advanced Remote Support, End User Technology, Incident and Operations Management, and Communications and Network Services.
The incumbent is responsible for supporting a wide range of advanced and specialized equipment within an assigned region, including network devices, servers, audio/visual systems, and standard end-user devices. Work is assigned and tracked through a service management ticketing system.
This position requires travel throughout the assigned region and occasionally statewide to support customer offices. The incumbent must be authorized to operate a state or personal vehicle. The role also involves lifting equipment up to 50 pounds and may require work in secure or controlled environments such as correctional facilities, mental health institutions, and developmental centers.
Minimum Qualifications

Four years of experience in information technology; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in information technology; OR
An associate's degree in information technology plus two years of experience in information technology; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in information technology; OR
A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field plus one year of experience in information technology; OR
A master’s degree plus one year of experience in information technology.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
Serve as the primary point of contact for end-user support, including service requests, troubleshooting, and resolution of hardware, software, and application issues.
Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and decommission hardware, software, and end-user devices (e.g., desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals).
Manage user and system accounts, including password resets, access updates, and asset tracking.
Utilize ticketing systems to log work, track service requests, document solutions, and maintain knowledge base resources.
Gather and analyze technical and business requirements to support system implementations, changes, and deployments.
Lead and participate in testing, implementation, and deployment of new or modified hardware, software, and system configurations.
Provide mobile device management support, including enrollment and configuration.
Troubleshoot basic local network connectivity issues in coordination with network engineering staff.
Act as a technical liaison between end users, internal technical teams, vendors, and third-party support providers.
Develop and deliver technical documentation, end-user communications, and training materials.
Lead and support projects related to end-user technologies, including planning, coordination, and execution of deployments.
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and training to lower-level staff.
Participate in emergency response activities, including setup of temporary technology infrastructure.
Identify and recommend improvements to services, processes, and operations.
Participate in meetings, ongoing training, on-call rotations, and travel as required.
