POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Conducts monthly inspections of fire extinguishers to ensure units are fully charged, properly located and free from tampering or damage, service tags are updated and correctly located in structure, to include fire suppression systems to verify control valves are properly positioned and sprinkle heads to ensure units are fully charged, and free from tampering or damage, maintain fire alarm systems, smoke detectors, strobes. Accordance with the Louisiana State Fire Marshall office. Conduct hands-on independent maintenance under Fire Marshal guide including diagnostics and troubleshooting for any repair system faults and malfunctions and perform corrective maintenance to restore full functionality and ensure facility safety. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations. Maintain detail records of inspections, testing, maintenance activities, and procurement actions of service records and inspections. Track all assets within the work order system. Ensure system remains in a (Live) status and life cycle requirements are monitored within the maintenance work order system. Serve as the point of contact for external vendors conducting repairs, inspections, and replacements as required for all system deficiencies and system upgrades. Respond to emergency call outs when required. Collaborate with supervisors on all upgrades and projects. Manage and maintain electronic and physical fire evacuation signage, ensuring all signage is accurate, visibility and compliance and updated to reflect any structural or layout changes and fire regulations. Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of fire protection systems ,including extinguishers, alarms, and suppression systems. Familiarly with fire safety regulations and codes, OSHA, Fire Marshal requirements. Ability to perform independent diagnostic and trouble shooting. Ability to coordinate with vendors and manage multiple maintenance actions simultaneously. Ability to read and interpret technical drawing and blueprints.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:- Must have a valid Driver's License, Social Security Card and Birth Certificate
- Must qualify to obtain a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) Card.
- Must be available to report to duty during emergency or disaster situations.
Other periodic travel may be required. - Must meet physical requirements to perform functions of the position.
- Must attend/complete all Louisiana Military Department (LMD) annual training and other training required for the position.
