This is a part-time position located at the Capitol Annex Building in Baton Rouge, LA.

This position administers the funds and assists in managing the increased activity in the 38 designated Main Street communities across Louisiana. Work experience in grant administration and grant development/application preferred. Work experience in nonprofit board development and training preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of experience in contracts or grants management, procurement, financial management, or accounting; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in contracts or grants management, procurement, financial management, or accounting; OR

A bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in contracts or grants management, procurement, financial management, or accounting; OR

An advanced degree in business or public administration, finance, economics, or statistics plus one year of experience in contracts or grants management, procurement, financial management, or accounting.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Fulfill all responsibilities of Contract Monitor for Louisiana Main Street grants. This includes all Redevelopment Incentive Grants (RIG) to property owners as well as all Technical Assistance (MSTA) grants to local Main Street organizations, as well as any future NPS Paul Bruhn grants if federal funding is received.
  • This position is responsible for any reporting and compliance matters as required by grant funders.
  • Work with local Main Street organizational boards and directors to provide training and assistance related to board management, board development, fundraising, manager development, etc. This includes organizing the annual assessment program for accredited/affiliate Main Street America communities.
  • Seek out grant funding opportunities for the Louisiana Main Street Program. Develop and submit applications for those funding opportunities.
  • Other responsibilities as determined by the director of Louisiana Main Street.

Position-Specific Details:

  • Appointment Type: This position will be filled as a part-time Classified WAE, limited to 1,245 working hours in a 12-month period. **Starting Hourly Pay varies, depending on experience.**
  • Work Schedule: This is a part-time position that reports in-office. This position may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or travel.
