LAND TECHNICIAN 1-3
This position assists the survey lead worker to perform duties and responsibilities relative to survey work in an effective manner to ensure that the best possible survey information is collected for roadway plans, drainage plans, drainage complaints, ROW boundaries, etc. Position receives direct supervisor from the Surveyor Supervisor. While in official capacity, DOTD employees must comply with applicable Louisiana and Civil Service laws, rules, and regulations, as well as DOTD policies, procedures, manuals, and directives.If you're driven, collaborative, and ready to make an impact—this could be the opportunity for you!

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
- Serves as the Survey Party Chief when no Land Technician 4 is available.
- Insures that field data is collected using the LADOTD Survey Feature Code Guide. This includes using the correct Feature Code along with Control Codes when required.
- Coordinates the collection of 3-dimensional field data throughout the project and verifies that it is sufficient, accurate and that covers the project area sufficiently to create a digital terrain model.
- Contacts property owners along project to advise them of the proposed activities and obtains permission to enter upon private property to conduct the survey.
- Insures and Checks the vertical control by running through the control points with a level loop or some other method to verify the survey control.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional
Work Schedule: This position will work 40 hours per week. Schedule can be discussed.
Compensation:
- Land Technician 1 - $14.98 hr with an additional Premium Pay of $2.00/hour for every hour worked.
- Land Technician 2 - $17.15 hr with an additional Premium Pay of $2.00/hour for every hour worked.
- Land Technician 3 - $18.35 hr with an additional Premium Pay of $2.00/hour for every hour worked.
