At LP Gas Commission, our mission is to promulgate and enforce rules that will allow for the safest possible distribution, handling, and usage of liquefied petroleum gas and anhydrous ammonia necessary for the protection, safety, and security of the public.

We’re looking for a Conservation Enforcement Specialist to serve as a representative in the field while promoting public safety. A self-motivating individual who is capable of critical thinking and decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in petroleum exploration, petroleum production, petroleum gas and/or anhydrous ammonia handling or distribution, natural resources regulation, natural resources enforcement, law enforcement, or investigatory work; OR

A bachelor’s degree in a biological science, physical science, natural science, geoscience, engineering, environmental science, mathematics, or nuclear science.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
Operates and maintains specialized monitoring equipment.

Performs statewide inspections and compliance audits to implement the rules and regulations enforced by the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Commission to protect public safety.

Approves installations of Liquefied Petroleum Gas for places of public assembly

Assists in presentations of technical seminars for industry representatives.


Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Conservation Enforcement Specialist 1, 2, or 3.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
