The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is responsible for managing and protecting the state’s renewable natural resources, including all wildlife and aquatic life.

This position is located in the Licensing Section within the Office of Management and Finance, which serves as the WLF Service Administrator for more than one million customers who register and title boats and motors, recreationally fish & hunt, commercially fish and use state lands for non-consumptive purposes, both in state and out of state. The incumbent of this position will issue hunting and fishing licenses, commercial licenses, register and title boats and motors, and collect related fees.

Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of experience in wildlife and fisheries programs, wildlife conservation enforcement, accounting, financial auditing, information technology, or procurement; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:
Register and title boats and motors, recreational (WMA, fishing & hunting) licenses, commercial licenses, both in state and out of state.
Work independently with minimal oversight using critical thinking skills and independent decision-making abilities.
Examines and analyzes data submitted by and/or on behalf of each applicant for licensure accuracy, authenticity and completeness of factual information to document determination of eligibility and qualification for boat registrations, inspections, decals, and licensure for lifetimes licenses, child support and unpaid

Appointment Type: Job Appointment (a period that will not exceed four years) may be converted to Probational Appointment should funding become available.
