Minimum Qualifications
-
Seven years of experience in information technology; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus five years of experience in information technology; OR
An associate's degree in information technology plus five years of experience in information technology; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience in information; OR
A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field plus four years of experience in information technology; OR
A master’s degree plus four years of experience in information technology.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NOTE:
A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
Design, implement new network; install, configure and support network equipment including WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
Manage and develop agency-wide surveillance/security infrastructure including enterprise firewall appliance (Checkpoint), AT&T/ Hitachi Vantara Video Management Solution (VMS) and Cybersecurity appliance Arctic Wolf
Manage/monitor camera and server infrastructure (up/down status), investigate issues and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies used to investigate problems and identify their antecedent and underlying cause.
Coordinates with IT Director on work for the Information Technology staff, consults on matters such as hiring, setting regular and emergency event work schedules, and establishing department procedures.
May present to agency personnel and other outside entities as needed to educate on appropriate and new technology use
Define data elements; design and implement logical and physical structures for databases; write and compile definitions and descriptions of data elements into dictionary form
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational - up to 24 months
Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
