The Louisiana House of Representatives has an Executive Assistant position available.

Starting Salary: $53,280

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

Executive-Level Administrative Support:

  • Provide advanced administrative and executive support to the Controller for the La House of Representatives, exercising independent judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Manage the Controller’s calendar, schedule meetings, coordinate travel in accordance with state or institutional travel policies, and prepare briefing materials for executive leadership upon request.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Controller’s Office and agency divisions/departments, legislative offices, and external auditors.

Document Preparation:

  • Draft, format, proofread, and organize financial correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and memoranda for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compile financial data and supporting documentation for audits, legislative inquiries, public records requests, and internal reviews.

Confidential Records & Ethics Compliance:

  • Maintain confidential financial, payroll, personnel, and audit-related records with strict adherence to state ethics laws, confidentiality requirements, and data-security standards.
  • Exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive or protected information, including draft financial data, audit findings, and executive communications.

Office Administration:

  • Manage the day-to-day administrative operations of the Controller’s Office, including workflow coordination, deadline tracking, collection of postal mail both internal and external and records management.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma plus five (5) years of clerical experience.

Must be organized and focused on unique tasks.

May have some accounting experience and willing to learn the duties required of the position.
