About this Job

The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.

The purpose of this position is to complete various physical, custodial, and/or maintenance tasks to include cleaning, preventative maintenance to facilities, removing litter and trash, cleaning various buildings, operating equipment, and performing grounds maintenance.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Performs custodial duties necessary to maintain clean and sanitary conditions of facilities.

  • Cleans rental facilities after guest turnover.

  • Assist in upkeep of site grounds and facilities.

  • Assists administrative staff with visitors.

  • Provides a high level of customer service and assists customers with inquiries.
  • Assists with maintaining grounds such as mowing grass, collecting litter, general maintenance, and emptying trash receptacles.



Position-Specific Details:
Location: Chemin-A-Haut State Park, Bastrop, LA

Appointment Type: This position will be filled as a part-time Classified WAE, limited to 1,245 working hours in a 12 month period. **Starting Hourly Pay varies, depending on experience.**

Work Schedule: Part-time; Mon-Sun; Weekends and Holidays will be required.
