- The Louisiana Special School District (LSSD) is an education service agency that provides services to the Louisiana Special Schools (Louisiana School for the Deaf, Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired, and Special School Programs). The schools provide educational opportunities to students with low-incidence disabilities and a variety of unique needs.
Seeking a highly skilled Administrative Assistant 6 to provide advanced administrative, clerical, and organizational support to departmental leadership. This role requires strong judgment, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage complex schedules, correspondence, and workflow with accuracy and confidentiality. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in supporting high-level operations.

- Communicating Effectively: The ability to relay information correctly and appropriately to connect people and ideas.
- Demonstrating Accountability: The ability to accept ownership for your actions, behaviors, performance, and decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 hours, which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties will include; but is not limited to the following:
*Creating Word documents, PowerPoints, etc.
*Arranging meetings/events for executive staff .
*Scheduling travel for executive staff, etc.
*Taking meeting notes and creating hard/electronic copy of notes.
*Drafting executive letters, notices, emails, etc.
*Managing an executive administrative office ie., phone calls, greeting visitors, etc.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional. The chosen applicant will be required to take a probationary appointment.
Location: The Administrative Assistant 6 position is located in the office of the Superintendent at the LA Special School District in Baton Rouge, LA
Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am-4:30 pm Monday - Friday.
