This position is located in the Office of the Undersecretary - Fiscal Services - Grants.

This position is responsible for the tracking and reporting of active grants and related contracts in the Department. It is I00% grants administration duties. This is one of three positions dedicated to the grants program for the Department. The grants program is a complex program. consisting of over twenty (20) grant projects from federal, state and private sources totaling over S14 million.- Culture: DOC values and supports employees through numerous recognition programs, creating a sense of community, prioritizing internal promotional opportunities, clear communication, and professional development.

An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:

Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of experience in contracts or grants management, procurement, financial management, or accounting; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
- Reviews, recommends, approves, and maintains the ACCESS database records and electronic grants purchase log for tracking requests for Purchase using knowledge of accounting general ledger codes and funding sources, as well as approved grant budget categories.
- Audit and post travel expenses in accordance with current state travel regulations, ensuring travel authorizations, required receipts, and travel details have been properly documented for allowable reimbursement of travelers' expenses and claimed on the proper grant.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of obligations and grant expenditures among ACCESS database, electronic grant spreadsheets, and DOC's general ledger accounts for each open grant.
- Work with: (1) Contracts/Grants Reviewer and (1) Contracts/Grants Reviewer Supervisor.

- Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
- An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
- This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
