The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long term psychiatric are in coordination with the total system of care in Louisiana.
ELMHS is looking for a motivated individual to join the Maintenance department as an Electronic Technician with knowledge in diagnostics and repair of electronic and mechanical equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience or training in the maintenance or repair of mechanical or electronic office equipment, precision machinery, or electronic/electrical systems; OR
Two years of experience or training in the installation, repair, or maintenance of computer equipment or systems (hardware and/or software); OR
Possession of a CompTIA A+ Certification plus one of the following:
1. One year of experience in the maintenance or repair of mechanical or electronic office equipment, precision machinery, or electronic/electrical systems; OR
2. One year of experience in the installation, repair, or maintenance of computer equipment or systems (hardware and/or software).
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every six semester hours earned from an accredited college or university in electronics or computer science will substitute for one year of the required experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess an appropriate Federal Communications Commission (FCC) radio-telephone license when working with marine and aviation transmitting equipment or with radar.Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
In this role, you will:
- Manage and maintain the entirety of the ELMHS Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Safety Surveillance System (hardware and software).
- Read and interpret electric and electronic schematics and mechanical layouts during installation and maintenance of the CCTV viewing platform and verifies proper operation.
- Recommend and conduct system and platform expansion by the installation of updates and programs, addition of components, and all associated peripheral items associated such as new cable, cable terminations, and electrical conduit as necessary.
- Conduct diagnostic testing, repair, or obtains cost estimates for installation and/or repair of all CCTV equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance operations as required on a periodic basis. Provides visual inspection of monitoring equipment, checking for safety defects and repairing as required.
- Assist the Communications Department Technical Specialist in the diagnostic assessment and repair of equipment and supporting components assigned to the Department.
- Coordinate through the Communication Department Director with the Office of Telecommunication Services (OTS) as primary liaison for computer and network services, the CCTV Safety Surveillance System, and all related activities.
- Maintain an inventory log of all equipment associated with the CCTV system and maintains critical parts for immediate and emergency repairs of Security Surveillance Equipment. Pulls video footage as requested.
- Maintain current, valid, and unencumbered motor vehicle operator's license.
