The University of Louisiana at Lafayette New Iberia Research Center (NIRC) specializes in the breeding, management, and importation of a diverse range of nonhuman primate species and offers a broad range of diagnostic, laboratory, and human resources for the development and characterization of nonhuman primate models for applied and basic research aimed at promoting human quality of life.
We’re looking for a Administrative Assistant 2 to join us at the New Iberia Research Center.

Minimum Qualifications
- One year of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
- Perform routine clerical and administrative duties in support of departmental operations.
- Prepare, process, and maintain documents, reports, and correspondence in accordance with established procedures.
- Greet and assist visitors, faculty, staff, and students; answer inquiries or direct individuals to appropriate personnel or departments.
- Receive, screen, and route telephone calls; take messages and provide basic information as required.
- Maintain and update records, files, and databases; ensure accuracy and confidentiality of information.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and conference room reservations.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and other materials.
- Prepare purchase requisitions, supply orders, and track inventory of office materials.
- Assist with payroll reporting, timesheets, or attendance records as directed by supervisor.
- Compile and verify data for departmental or unit reports.
- Operate standard office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines.
- Enter and retrieve data using word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Review forms and documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies.
- Process travel requests, reimbursements, or other administrative transactions as assigned.
- Provide assistance to supervisors or professional staff by drafting routine correspondence and assembling supporting materials.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive or personnel-related information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support smooth and efficient daily operations.

Work Location: This position is located at the New Iberia Research Center, 4401 W. Admiral Doyle Dr., New Iberia, LA 70506
Compensation: This position has a minimum hourly rate of $12.03/hour
