About this Job

The Accounting Technician position is responsible for performing a variety of fiscal and administrative duties in support of the agency's accounting operations. Work involves preparing and reconciling daily bank deposits, recording receivables in both the agency's licensing and accounting systems, preparing monthly adjusting journal entries, and processing weekly vendor payments. The incumbent also assists with employee onboarding activities, including the completion of new hire and benefits documentation. This position requires accuracy, organizational skills, and a strong understanding of standard accounting procedures and state fiscal policies.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience or training in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, or financial operations or computations.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Prepare and complete daily bank deposits, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

  • Record receivables in both agencies' licensing system and accounting software.

  • PreparesmonthlyadjustingjournalentriesProcessweeklyvendorpayments\

  • Enter and track all vendor invoices in the agency's accounting system.

  • Maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records

  • Assist with onboarding of new employees, including the preparation of new hire paperwork and benefits forms.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational

Work Schedule: Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
