- The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.
The purpose of this position is to complete various physical, custodial, and/or maintenance tasks to include cleaning, preventative maintenance to facilities, removing litter and trash, training volunteers and new employees, cleaning various buildings, operating equipment, and performing grounds maintenance.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
Performs custodial duties necessary to maintain clean and sanitary conditions of facilities.
Perform maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, etc.
Assist in upkeep of site grounds and facilities.
Assists administrative staff in the collection of appropriate fees from visitors.
- Provides a high level of customer service and assists customers with inquiries.
Assists with maintaining grounds such as mowing grass, collecting litter, removing limbs and debris, maintenance, and emptying trash receptacles.
Position-Specific Details:
Location: Ft. Randolph Buhlow SHS, in Pineville, LAWork Schedule: State Parks are open 365 days a year. Position will work a rotating schedule of 40 hours/week, that can include holidays and/or weekends as needed, to ensure coverage at the park.
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional.
Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Park Technician A, B, or C, depending on the qualifications of the selected applicant.
Travel: Position requires driving around the park as part of the daily shift. A state vehicle is available for employee use while on duty.
