This is a full-time position located at the Black Bear Golf Course in Dehli, LA.

The purpose of this position is to assist in a variety of maintenance/clerical, and/or other physical tasks to include the conduct of preventative and corrective maintenance as directed.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Serves as lead worker over all assigned duties.
  • Assists Grounds Superintendent in preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance of site’s equipment, and assists in upkeep of facilities, grounds, and support facilities.
  • Mows greens, tees, roughs, and other areas.
  • Maintains course in proper playing condition.
  • Communicates as necessary with supervisors to discuss conditions of facilities, maintenance plans, and scheduled events.
  • Operates vehicles, utility, all-terrain vehicles, greens and front-end mowers, tractors, lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws to maintain grounds and nature trails in a safe manner to avoid injury.
  • Performs daily safety checks of equipment.
  • Keeps up with condition of and cleans equipment regularly.
  • Ensures that the equipment cooling and other systems are working at all times.
  • Cleans equipment daily and immediately reports equipment problems or failures to supervisor.
  • Cleans interior and exteriors of site facilities.
  • Sweeps, mops, and washes site facilities.
  • Removes trash.
  • Clean site’s grounds and facilities.
  • Collect litter and debris.


Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: This is a probational appointment.
Work Schedule: The Black Bear Golf Course is open to the public 7:30 AM-5:30 PM on Tuesday-Sunday. The position may be required to work overtime, weekends/evenings, holidays, and/or travel.
Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Park Technician A, B, or C.
