Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
Driving tractor-trailers and box trucks state-wide; providing functional supervision of contract warehouse staff, Laborer and Mobile Equipment Operator (MEO) 1, etc. when away from LPAA Headquarters; assisting contracted warehouse staff, Laborer and MEO1 to safely load/unload property in such a manner as to prevent damage to merchandise or the facility in which it is located; monitoring surplus as it is loaded to ensure load contents are complete and that
the load only consists of the property included in the approved packet of Transfer Forms.
Inspecting packet of Transfer Forms to ensure scheduler assigned vehicle is appropriately sized for the amount of surplus being picked up; performing pre-trip planning to develop a route that maximizes efficiencies and fuel economies; working with the person at LPAA responsible for developing schedules to determine an approximate ETA at each pickup location; keeping management informed of delays that negatively impact the schedule; performing pre-trip inspection of truck and/or trailer; inspecting the condition of the surplus and refusing to accept any pieces of property that should be scrapped due to poor condition; managing cash advances for overnight trips; preparing expense reports, mileage logs, and any other documentation required by a supervisor.
Delivering surplus property to the auction site; operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies; providing manual labor to assist other LPAA staff with loading, unloading, tagging, and arranging property for sale or auction; assisting customers with loading their purchases.
Perform any other duty assigned by a supervisor.Position-Specific Details:
