The position involves managing, coordinating, and supervising the design section's project plans for the Pavement Preservation Program (Non-Interstate) for District 62, ensuring quality control and cost-effective solutions for the traveling public. While in official capacity, DOTD employees must comply with applicable Louisiana and Civil Service laws, rules, and regulations, as well as DOTD policies, procedures, manuals, and directives.

Job Duties:

• Utilizes advanced computer software like CADD, MS Office, and roadway, hydraulic, and guardrail design software.
• Demonstrates knowledge in interpreting and applying departmental policies, procedures, EDSMs, AASHTO Road Design Guidelines, 3R Road Design Guidelines, DOTD Road Design Standards, standard plans, contract specifications, and design manuals.
• Selects appropriate treatment for preserving asphaltic concrete roadways maintained by LADOTD.

Appointment Type: This position may be filled as either a probational appointment, promotion, or by detail to special duty.

Work Schedule: Work hours are to be determined, Monday - Friday.
