About this position:
This position directs, develops, implements, and administers the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Real Estate Program. This position is directly responsible for the supervision and control of the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Real Estate Program. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining, planning, developing, reporting, and producing Right of Way Section real property in a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) format. Minimum Qualifications

Six years of experience in using geographic information systems (GIS), using digital mapping and/or surveying technology, or in aerial photography; OR
Twelve semester hours in a computer science, GIS, or geospatial field plus five years of experience in using geographic information systems, using digital mapping and/or surveying technology, or in aerial photography; OR
A bachelor’s degree with twelve semester hours in a computer science, GIS, or geospatial field plus four years of experience in using geographic information systems, using digital mapping and/or surveying technology, or in aerial photography. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
- Provides leadership and supervision over necessary Section 23 staff (Headquarters and State-wide Right of Way Agents and GIS personnel) to assure data collected and entered into the appropriate format which is adequate for production of the GIS products, such as digitization of real estate acquisitions and parcels.
- Enters and verifies GIS data by manual and heads-up digitizing. scripts, application software, and models. This position supervises and trains Section 23 Right of Way Agents and GIS personnel in data collection. data entry, and verification of data for their digitization of DOTD's real estate acquisitions and parcels as required by the Real Estate GIS Program.
- This position researches historical data or reference historical maps (i.e. survey plats, construction plan documents, existing right-of-way maps, etc.) to verify data according to parcel, land ownership, boundary, etc.
- Identify, plan, develop, and produce queries to run and provide reports that acquire and utilize data from LaGov (SAP), Real Estate, consultant contract, and other available database sources as needed to assist in identifying existing problems, necessary support, or propose solution alternatives.
- May be required to perform other duties as necessary, including, but not limited to, emergency\disaster support activities.
